Breastfeeding Support

Feeding help from a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist who meets you where you are.
Feeding your baby can bring up a lot of feelings, and a lot of questions. Many of us grew up believing that because our bodies are designed to breast/chest feed, it should come easily. The truth is that lactation is something both you and your baby are learning together, and a little support can make a big difference.
As a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist serving families across Eugene and Lane County, I’m here to help you feel more confident feeding your baby and to help you reach the feeding goals that are right for your family. However you feed, and whatever your journey looks like, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
However you feed your baby, I'm here to help
My support is for every family and every feeding path. Whether you’re breast feeding, chest feeding, pumping, bottle feeding, feeding with an SNS, cup, or syringe, or some combination of all of these, my goal is the same: a fed baby and a supported parent.
I offer education and hands-on support for:
- Latch, positioning, and comfort
- Milk supply questions and concerns,
- Feeding a newborn and knowing your baby is getting enough,
- Feeding methods beyond breast/chest and bottle, including SNS, cup, and syringe feeding,
- Pumping and hand expression, and preparing to return to work or school,
- Bottle feeding, including paced bottle feeding and combination feeding,
- Reaching your own feeding goals, without pressure or judgment
Support for partners and your whole care team
Feeding challenges affect the whole family, not just the person feeding.
I help partners and other support people understand what the birthing parent is going through, so everyone in your corner knows how to help.
Research shows that partner support and a parent’s confidence in working through challenges both play a real role in feeding success.

What my breastfeeding support looks like
I’ve folded feeding support right into the visits I offer families, so we can work on it together at whatever point you need it. Lactation takes learning for both the parent and the baby, and having someone in your corner to answer questions, troubleshoot the hard moments, and cheer you on can help you keep going.
We can start prenatally, so you feel prepared before your baby is born, or we can meet after birth when questions come up.
I’ll meet you where you are.
I offer bottle feeding support, too
Not every feeding journey is at the breast or chest, and that’s completely okay.
I support families who bottle feed, whether that’s expressed milk, formula, or a mix. We can talk through paced bottle feeding, choosing what works for your baby, and feeding in a way that feels calm and connected.
Every feeding journey looks different, and I’m here to help you meet your goals in a supportive way.

Challenges are common, and support makes the difference
Struggling with breast/chest feeding doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It’s a normal part of learning, for you and your baby both. What matters most is having the right support to work through it.
Studies show that working with a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist improves breastfeeding rates, increases how long families exclusively breastfeed, and helps parents overcome common challenges like latch difficulties and low milk supply.
I also help families understand how milk production works: how your body makes milk, and why feeding, whether at the breast/chest, by pumping, or otherwise, matters not just for your baby but for your own health and your community.
When your situation calls for a higher level of care, I refer to IBCLCs and other specialists so you always have the right support in place.
